Privacy Policy

How VerseGuard keeps your practice yours.

Effective 29 May 2026 Version 1.0 2 min read

VerseGuard is built to be private by design. The app runs on your device, stores your progress on your device, and has no user accounts and no server holding your personal data. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run advertising or analytics trackers. This policy explains, plainly, what the app touches — and the many things it deliberately leaves alone.

01What stays on your device

VerseGuard is local-first. The following is created and kept only on your device:

  • Your verse library, memorization progress, mastery levels, and review schedule.
  • Your streak, settings, and onboarding choices.
  • Your list of protected apps and your Hard Mode preference.

This data lives in the app’s local storage. It is not transmitted to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app removes it from your device.

02Subscriptions & payments

VerseGuard offers an optional premium subscription with a free trial. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your payment card or billing details. We use RevenueCat to verify whether your subscription is active. For that, RevenueCat processes a purchase receipt and a randomly generated, anonymous app-user identifier. It is used only to unlock premium features and to restore your purchase; it is never linked to your name, email, or contacts.

03Screen Time & app blocking

If you use VerseGuard to guard other apps, the blocking is performed by Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time framework on your device. Your selection is stored on-device using Apple’s privacy-preserving tokens — VerseGuard sees counts, not the names of the apps you choose, and that information never leaves your device.

04What we don’t collect

  • No accounts. There is no sign-up, login, or server profile.
  • No advertising. No ad networks, no ad identifiers.
  • No analytics SDKs tracking your behavior in this version.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for their own use.

05Third-party services

VerseGuard relies on Apple (App Store, in-app purchases, Screen Time) and RevenueCat (subscription verification). Their handling of any data is governed by their own policies: the Apple Privacy Policy and the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

06Your data, your control

Because your data is stored locally, you control it. To delete everything VerseGuard has created, delete the app. To cancel a subscription, use iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. For any privacy request, email support@verseguardapp.com.

07Children’s privacy

VerseGuard is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
