Terms of Service

The agreement between you and VerseGuard.

Effective 29 May 2026 Version 1.0 3 min read

By downloading or using VerseGuard, you agree to these terms. VerseGuard is a tool to help you memorize Scripture and guard your attention. Please read the subscription section closely — it spells out the free trial and auto-renewal so there are no surprises.

01Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and VerseGuard (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the VerseGuard iOS app (the “App”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

02Your license to use VerseGuard

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

03Subscriptions, free trial & auto-renewal

VerseGuard offers an optional premium subscription:

  • Free trial. Eligible plans include a 7-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before it ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and on each renewal, through the App Store.
  • Managing & cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period stays active until it ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we cannot issue App Store refunds directly.

Exact prices, plan lengths, and trial availability are shown in the App before you purchase.

04Acceptable use

Use the App lawfully. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the App, or use it to interfere with another person’s device without their permission.

05App blocking & Screen Time

VerseGuard’s blocking features use Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time framework, which you enable and control. You are responsible for the apps you choose to restrict. VerseGuard is a self-discipline tool — not a parental-control, security, or safety product — and should not be relied upon as one.

06Scripture & content

Bible text shown in the App is provided for personal study and memorization. Translations remain the property of their respective publishers.

07Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

08Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VerseGuard will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

09Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The effective date above reflects the latest version.

10Apple’s standard licence

Except where these Terms apply, your use of the App is also covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
